This year, you all really showed up for gamers and for youths in long-term pediatric care.
During the month of March, the Cool Gamer Retirement Home raised $1,350 for Gamers Outreach, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing play and community experiences (which have been shown to accelerate healing) for kids in long-term pediatric facilities. These are kids who need friendship, who need a boost, who are going through intensely isolating experiences but who still simply want to be kids.

Gaming experiences help create better care outcomes and improve the healing process. Gamers Outreach provides over 4.3 gaming experiences in hospitals every year.

When the month started, we weren’t sure what to expect. Gamers Outreach provided some base goals, introductory content, and lots of information for the community to share. It quickly became clear that our friends – our retirement home family – were going to knock it out of the park again.
Every little bit counts – and our 18 featured streamers raised that $1350 together. We also got to do some awesome incentives! Things like:
- Chaos art canvas with the CGRH GO letters (viewers could donate to have a Little Guy™ drawn by some featured artists/streamers)
- Fortnite stream with Momdria
- Mario Kart stream with Dadria
- Signed kombucha can
- Baking stream with yummy chocolate chunk cookies
Here’s something else: The end of CGRH GO brings the amount we have raised as a community to more than $5,000. Read that again. That number is five THOUSAND dollars. YOU all are doing that.
We put together this trailer for the CGRH GO experience – check it out and see how much fun we had!
